Representation in the House of Commons of Canada

Canada’s provinces and territories are represented in the House of Commons based on the principle of “representation by population”. The formula used to determine the number of seats allotted to each province and territory has been altered over time. A complete history of the representation formula and the present formula can be viewed here.
